UNAPOLOGETIC should be accessible to as many people as possible. We are aware of the intersectional reality and endeavour to consider the issue of accessibility at all levels and from the outset.

Awareness measures

Each location is managed by a queer professional dancer from the project team. In addition to the site director, who is all aware to queer issues as well as anti-racism, anti-ableism and anti-fatphobia, the rehearsals are also led by different people with different bodies, so that each group experiences several body images and role models in the process. The project team is intersectional and inclusive at all levels up to and including decision-making positions.

We have an advisory team with expertise and experience in various forms of discrimination. This advisory team is not involved in the artistic process but advises the project team on accessibility and anti-discrimination issues. This advisory team is also the point of contact for all project participants for complaints.

Language

German spoken language will be used in the rehearsals. If wished, we can offer bilingual instructions in German and English spoken language. Unfortunately, we are unable to offer translation into sign language this year.

Further communication will be in German or, if wished, in written English.

Accessibility of the premises

All rehearsal rooms, performance spaces and toilets are wheelchair accessible. 

There is one rehearsal venue in each of the cities of Zurich, Bern, Lucerne and Basel. You can choose which city you would like to rehearse in. 

If you feel uncomfortable being alone in the evening, please let us know. We will make sure that we can accompany you to the public transport.

Financial accessibility

Participation is free of charge and we will reimburse public transport tickets to the camp and performance venues. If the journey cannot be made by public transport, we will reimburse the expenses for this journey in the same way.
